On the 19th of Feb. 2018, Dr. Masoud Boroomand, Iran’s Deputy Minister for Research & Technology appointed Dr. Mehdi Keshmiri, President of Isfahan Science and Technology Town (ISTT) as his Deputy of Technological Affairs and also as the Director of the Office for Policy Legislation and Planning of Technological Affairs at the Ministry of SRT.
Dr. Keshimiri has been the President of ISTT for two nonconsecutive terms ranging from 2003 to 2005 and from 2013 to the present time, under which he has been the President of West Asia North African Division of the International Association of Science Parks and Areas of Innovation (IASP) for a term. He has also been a board member of the Asian Association of Science Parks (ASPA) and the World Technopolis Association (WTA). Dr. Keshmiri has participated on projects funded by the World Bank for the development of the Technological Incubation Process within Iran and is also the European Commission’s National Contact Point for Horizon 2020.
As a long-term faculty member of the Mechanical Engineering Department of Isfahan University of Technology, he has dedicated his life to the distribution of knowledge and by becoming the department’s Vice President for Research has also contributed to its conversion to innovation and wealth.
It is hoped that with his extensive experience in the field of innovation and knowledge-based development he can contribute to the advancement of Iran’s entrepreneurial output and economic growth with the promotion of science and technology parks in the country.
